Just a post

The house they lived in was cosy. Sometimes drafty, as old farm houses could be. Addie couldn't complain because it was dirt cheap and all they could really afford right now. White clapboard, mossy around the foundation. Set back a few acres form the main house. All of the country areas that used to be so wide open and vastly underpopulated seem to be bordered by many new subdivisions. Suburbia is taking over everything.

"Nadia, Tyler - it's time for school," she called up to her kids. They enjoyed watching cartoons before school, so after breakfast they would head back up to Addie & Brian's bedroom to watch.
Tyler stumbled down the last 2 steps and nearly fell. "Shit." he said quietly.

"Hey! What did you say?" Addie scolded.

"Mom - he said shit, I heard him." Nadia was nodding at her mom on the way down.
Tyler glared at his sister as she sauntered passed him with her eyes closed and a smug grin. Addie thought Nadia looked proud as usual. Nadi wasn't all that much of a tattletale, but when she did, it was usually big. Tyler was 14 going on 21, but with 14 attitude and Nadi was 4. Both of the children had sandy brown hair & Tyler wore his shaggy. Nadia had long soft curls.

"Where's dad?" Tyler asked this, attempting to draw attention from the word he'd just uttered.
